Data providers
Last reviewed: 18 October 2026 · research only · not financial advice
CoinBatmi runs on free public market data. This registry lists the providers behind the numbers, what each one supplies, and what happens when one is unavailable.
Market tape
| Provider | Supplies | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| CoinGecko | Coin metadata, broad asset list, fallback spot tape | Market list, coin pages, search |
| Binance | Spot trades, futures funding and open interest | Charts, derivatives panels |
| Coinbase | Spot prints (USD) | Multi-venue quotes |
| Kraken | Spot prints | Multi-venue quotes |
| OKX | Spot and perpetual prints | Multi-venue quotes, funding |
| Bybit | Perpetual prints, open interest | Derivatives panels |
| KuCoin · Gate.io · Bitget | Long-tail spot prints | Multi-venue quotes |
Aggregation rule
Quotes merge across venues. Charts resolve a tradeable pair multi-venue and show the winning venue in the caption. When a provider is rate-limited or down, the remaining venues carry the print; when no venue resolves, the product says data is unavailable instead of estimating a number.
Derivatives, DeFi and research
- DefiLlama — DeFi protocol and chain TVL, L2 scaling, stablecoin supply.
- alternative.me — Fear & Greed index (fallback path in the market layer).
- Snapshot — governance proposals via public GraphQL.
- Futures APIs — funding and open interest, multi-venue median when available.
News wires
The desk monitors public RSS feeds from major crypto publishers (CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, Decrypt, The Block and others) plus verified multi-source tape. Stories are our own notes with clear timestamps and links to primary sources; we do not republish full third-party articles.
Availability
Every provider here is used on a free tier. Rate limits and outages happen; coverage is best-effort and never padded. Provider health is exposed through the status API, and the methodology page describes how prints are resolved.
